By:Jonathan Benson / Natural News – (NaturalNews) Amid all the controversy over genetically-modified (GM) crops and their pesticides and herbicides decimating bee populations all around the world, biotechnology behemoth Monsanto has decided to buy out one of the major international firms devoted to studying and protecting bees. According to a company announcement, Beeologics handed over the reins to Monsanto back on September 28, 2011, which means the gene-manipulating giant will now be able to control the flow of information and products coming from Beeologics for colony collapse disorder (CCD).
The future looks bleak for bees, in other words, as Monsanto appears poised to slowly gobble up all the competing companies and organizations that threaten its own GMO products, while pretending to care about the dwindling bee populations. And unless drastic action is taken to stop Monsanto in its continued quest to dominate global agriculture, the food supply as we know it will soon be a thing of the past.

CKA – This is not a good idea in my opinion because Monsanto is not only responsible for the bee decline but now they will be in control of the data to manipulate any desired outcome. It’s kind of like having the fox guarding the hen house. Monsanto has worked overtime with their lobbying arm to make life hell for traditional farmers, organic farmers and heirloom seed harvesters. They have so much control, there has been concern that Monsanto could go after the back yard farmer!!
Corporate controlled food supply
In early 2009, corporations like Monsanto, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Sodexo and Tyson Foods wrote and sponsored “food safety” bills which, according to critics; hand control and policing of food to factory farms and corporations. They point out that bills impose industrial, anti-farming “standards” to independent farms. Also, that they subject those who do not use chemicals and fertilizers to severe penalties, which apply even to producers growing food for their own consumption. The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009: HR 875 [29] was introduced by Rosa DeLauro, whose husband (Stanley Greenburg) works for Monsanto. According to critics, the bill includes criminalization of seed banking, prison terms and confiscatory fines for farmers; 24 hour GPS tracking of their animals and warrentless government entry.
